Iowa pastor/rapist skips town with his family

Here’s a real charming story: “A former Pella pastor is accused of raping three women in his congregation and having sexual contact with a fourth and using his position as church leader to exploit the women.” Pella is in the state of Iowa where citizens – whipped into a religious fury – grabbed their pitchforks and torches and ran to the voting booth in November 2010 and threw 3 judges off the the Supreme Court because they decided in favor of the establishment of same-sex marriage in the state.
Them librul judges ain’t gonna push the gays on no Iowans. The lard has spoken! Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve yadda yadda yadda…
While all of the holy and righteous were were being whipped into a frenzy, “Rev. Patrick Edouard, 41, former pastor of Covenant Reformed Church” was plotting his escape from the state. He is alleged to have “forced three separate women into sex acts in early 2006, August 2007 and April 2008” and there is another woman claiming a relationship between 2008 and 2010.
Rev Edouard must have seen the writing on the wall and made plans to get the hell outta Iowa. In addition to the sexual abuse, he is also accused of violating a state law that protects people from being victimized by councilors, therapists, teachers and clergy. These women all sought out the counsel of Rev. Edouard.
Not only is the Rev a worm and a perv and pig but he’s an adulterer too: “He, his wife and four children moved to Byron Center, Mich.”
Isn’t it nice that religious fanatics are encouraging people to be bigots while they are raping, cheating and manipulating women? Isn’t that what tradition is all about? They would know…
